Helle Fjording 50 aar - 2025 LTD

In 1975, Helle launched a knife that would change how knives were thought about in Scandinavia. In collaboration with designer Tor Indergaard, they created a new knife with a blade that was only half as long as was standard at the time. This small, new invention was called the Helle Fjording. This model carved the way for the Nying model, and as they say, the rest is history.

To mark the 50th anniversary of this, Helle dedicated their 2025 Limited Edition Knife to the Fjording 50 aar.

The Fjording 50 aar (translation: Fjording 50 years) preserves many of the defining, innovative features of the original design. It has the same short and stubby blade shape and contoured handle, which means it excels at carving and woodworking. It also comes with a wrap-around style sheath, which you can secure to your belt or backpack and keep it securely in place.

The blade on the Fjording 50 aar is the thicker laminate H3LC steel. We have added some styling and modern materials to the handle. The original had a one-piece birch handle. The Fjording 50 aar features a stunning, composite handle made out of curly birch, stablized, green curly birch, and leather. The “Helle-colored” green curly birch in the handle represents both how important this design has been for the brand and the new techniques that Helle is embracing. The wrap-around sheath is made in high-grade, tan leather.
